Sydkorset magasin (Sjømannskirken) for nordmenn i Australia: Typisk norsk?

The article "Typical Norwegian?" is based on an interview with the Australian artist, farmer and teacher Jenny Blake. She has made two illustrated books where she describes the Norwegian habits and life style with lots of irony and love. She explains why the Norwegians are the Scandinavian aussies and describes the similarities and differences of the peoples from her two favourite countries on earth.

Adresseavisen: Trønder med japanske røtter.

  The Melbourne-based artist Solrun Hoaas has translated the book "Night of the Milky Way Railway" from Japanese to Norwegian. This is the first time a book by the wellknown Japanese author and cult figure Kenji Miyazawa is published in Norwegian. Solrun Hoaas discovered his imaginative, philosophical universe in the 1970s and is now happy to share his unique stories with Norwegian readers of all ages. Verktøykassa, fagblad for barnehageansatte: Skrik på Hvalstrand

  About a project where the children learn about local history. The well known Norwegian artist Edvard Munch, famous for the picture "The Scream", came to parties in the building of todays Day Care Center. The children learn about his pictures and how to express their inner feelings through art and by posing on photos where they imitate the models in Edvard Munch's paintings.

Verktøykassa, fagblad for barnehageansatte: Å kommunisere med trommer

  About a French-African entertainer who has specialised in communicating with groups of children using drums, maraccas and dance. His experience is that some children find it easier to communicate through dance and music than by talking.

Being Unicef: Kvinner skaper utvikling

  The women in rural parts of western and central Africa live in male oriented societies and often have little influence. The former Unicef regional leader Torild Skard explains why it is so important to support the women in Africa. As an example she tells about a group of women in Mauretania who made the economy florish after the men left to the city because of the drought.

The Norwegian sailor Rune Kristian Ellingsen tells about his experiences from sailing around the world. He and his friend have tried to live like the locals and have learned a lot about different peoples and ways of life. His conclusion is that the world tour has been very different from what they expected - but mostly for the better. The sailor says that he is now more open to the qualities of Non-Western cultures and mindsets.

Being Unicef: 11 runder

  A 12 year old boy tells what he does to earn money for Unicef once a year. His school is part of a Unicef project where the kids attain sponsors who pay a certain amount for every lap they run, cycle etc. Last year this boy ran 11 laps which in term supported 41 students in Eritrea with school books and equipment for a year.
